Draft / development content — pending editorial review, not a published recommendation.
Our assessment
For a solo founder whose immediate task is publishing a recurring newsletter, we
would shortlist beehiiv for a trial. Before paying, write down the workflow you
need: a weekly issue, a welcome sequence, or a publication funded by readers.
Evaluate the plan against that workflow rather than the number of features listed.
This is a research draft based on official documentation checked on September 23,
2026. We have not tested the editor, migration, support response times, or inbox
placement. Our assessment is an editorial judgment, not a hands-on performance
rating. No active affiliate offer is configured for this review.
What the plans include
Launch supports up to 2,500 subscribers, unlimited email sends, website hosting,
and custom domains. Scale adds email automations and paid subscriptions. Removing
beehiiv branding requires Max or Enterprise. These plan distinctions come from
the official pricing and feature comparison.
Our view: start by testing the publishing workflow. If a welcome sequence is
essential from day one, include the cost of a paid plan in your decision. If
branding is a requirement, investigate that requirement before migrating.
Understand the cost before upgrading
The pricing table below reads from our product data. It covers Launch and the
monthly-billed Scale and Max tiers for up to 1,000 subscribers, checked against
the official subscriber-tier FAQ.
Higher paid tiers and annual contracts are not quoted here. The paid-tier limit
in this table is the boundary of that price, not the maximum size of the product.
Use the newsletter cost calculator to check
each recorded tier’s subscriber boundary. For a paid quote, select your audience
size and billing period on the provider’s pricing page.
The calculator’s annual view totals twelve monthly payments; it does not quote
an annual contract or assume an annual discount. Record the total charge and
renewal terms before buying; do not treat a displayed
monthly equivalent as permission to pay month by month.
A practical trial checklist
- Draft an issue using your actual headings, images, and links. Send it to your
own test addresses and inspect it on desktop and mobile.
- Try the signup journey yourself. Confirm that the welcome experience matches
what a new reader expects.
- List the data and integrations you need to move. Test a small, permissioned
sample before committing to a migration.
- Price your current audience and your next growth milestone. Compare the
additional expense with the work you expect the upgrade to save.
Continue with the trial if the core workflow fits. If it needs workarounds, compare
alternatives against the same checklist before choosing. We have not verified
enough competitor data to declare a winner.
